A SUMMIT WITH A MISSION BEYOND THE STORM

Beginning in 2022, the National Storm Chaser Summit has grown into a high-impact, multi-day gathering that brings together professional storm chasers, Meteorologists, weather enthusiasts, and local and national media from across the country. More than an event, the Summit is a place where knowledge is shared, careers are inspired, relationships are built, and the future of severe-weather safety is shaped. The Summit features a full day of professional training across several categories, high-quality speakers and presentations, Hall of Fame inductions, scholarship presentations for students pursuing a degree in Meteorology, and the Vortex Awards, recognizing outstanding storm photography across numerous categories. In 2027, the Summit will also introduce its first-ever Youth Summit, creating an opportunity to engage young children, encourage their curiosity, and inspire the next generation through their passion for weather. But the mission of the National Storm Chaser Summit reaches far beyond the conference itself. As a non-profit organization, the Summit is committed to educating current and future storm chasers and Meteorologists while also making a tangible difference in communities impacted by severe weather. Through the support of our sponsors and partners, the Summit raises funds to provide professional-grade storm shelters in communities across the country that have experienced significant tornadoes and may not have the resources to install shelters of their own.
